"The preservation of health is easier than the cure of disease."   - B.J. Palmer

The first question most individuals ask when seeking a chiropractor for the first time is: "Do I have to come back forever?" Before answering this question, consider this: Do you believe it is important to see your dentist regularly for teeth cleaning and cavity prevention? If you start exercising today, do you need to continue this regimen to maintain a good level of fitness? If you have one colonoscopy at age 50, does this suffice in the prevention of extensive colorectal cancer for the rest of your life?

Your nervous system is the most important system in your body! Chiropractic adjustments do not work to relieve the body of pain but to allow the body to FUNCTION optimally. When your body is functioning optimally, it is in homeostasis and is able to heal itself. When disease is present, pain is often the last symptom to show up. Regular chiropractic adjustments help to maintain the integrity of the nervous system and often prevent pain and disease.

So, to answer the first question, if you see a chiropractor once you do not have to come back forever, but why would you not want to? As chiropractors, we make the same recommendations to our patients as we do to our families. Chiropractics is vital to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We want that for everyone!

Food for thought: Why is it that we end up taking better care of our automobiles than we do ourselves? Cars have replaceable parts. Our bodies don't.
